What is the Orbea Carbon GSB?

Orbea totally masters the knowledge for the design and construction of carbon bicycles. The long-standing experience we have built up in the use of this material has enabled us to create bicycles that respond to the needs of the most demanding users in the bike world.

Orbea carbon is a composite consisting of high modulus carbon fibres, and we use it to create structures with optimum stiffness, resistance, lightness and vibration absorption. In short, the perfect qualities for making the perfect frames.

We have used our knowledge, experience and know-how to design three fibre categories, and we have called them Gold, Silver and Bronze. Each one represents a different level of carbon and therefore has certain technical characteristics. The names we have chosen for our carbon levels are OMG, OMS and OMB: Orbea Monocoque Gold, Silver and Bronze.

One of the main differences between Orbea fibre types is the modulus level. The greater the Young’s Modulus, the better the performance, as can be seen in the three Orbea classifications: Gold (ultra-high modulus), Silver (high modulus) and Bronze (intermediate modulus).

Orbea has created three carbon levels: Gold, Silver and Bronze.

Orbea’s three carbon levels provide optimum vibration absorption.

The greater the Young’s Modulus, the better the performance.

OMG. Orbea Monocoque Gold

OMG Carbon Gold consists of ultra-high modulus fibres that improve traction resistance and compression, obtaining structures with an extremely high weight-to-stiffness ratio. These materials, in combination with laminates that have undergone iterative processes of finite element analysis (FEA), enable us to create a frame that guarantees the maximum stiffness and the minimum weight.

This type of fibre is used for top-level competition: we are placing the market’s top technology in your hands.

OMS. Orbea Monocoque Silver

Carbon Silver consists of high modulus fibres providing stiffness and vibration absorption for maximum pedalling efficiency, offering you unbeatable performance for long stints.

It uses a combination of fibres with maximum Young’s Modulus and a high vibration absorption capacity. And that means a bike that’s as demanding as you are.

OMB. Orbea Monocoque Bronze

Carbon Bronze fibres are intermediate modulus fibres that seek maximum performance by combining elasticity and durability and creating a frame affordable for anyone.

The higher density and the compression resistance of these fibres make for an optimum laminate, better vibration absorption and a higher resistance of the structure over time. That’s why Orbea's first step in carbon is far superior to the market standard.

Users can really make the most of this combination, as we cater for the needs of riders who are experiencing Orbea Carbon technology for the first time, and we guarantee them a higher degree of performance and efficiency.
